Guiding Lights Gala: A New Tradition of Impact Begins
At Metrik Marketing, we’ve had the opportunity to work closely with MaKami College over the years, and one thing has always stood out — their genuine commitment to changing lives through education. That’s why we’re incredibly excited to see the launch of the first-ever Guiding Lights Gala by the MaKami Education Foundation.
Taking place on May 16, 2026, at the historic Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, the Guiding Lights Gala represents more than a single evening of celebration. It’s the beginning of what we believe will become one of Alberta’s most meaningful philanthropic events — bringing together business leaders, community advocates, and supporters who believe education can transform futures.
The foundation’s mission is powerful: helping students overcome barriers through scholarships, ESL training, childcare support, mental health resources, and career readiness programs. Many of the students supported are newcomers, single parents, and individuals rebuilding their lives through education.
